The beginning of everything is the development of a guiding idea. This is achieved by taking into account all project-related framework conditions. We strive to do justice to the special character of the place and the purpose of the building. Our aim is to achieve the highest degree of simplicity and to have a plausible and appropriate result. Good proportions and an obvious combination of aesthetic features are just as important in this context as the consideration of technical aspects. When planning corporate spaces, internal structure and philosophy are reflected in the architectural design as well as ground plans and interior. Recent projects range from business headquarters and residential buildings, to monument conservation projects, as well as interior and product design.
Our areas of expertise: Business & Office Development / Corporate Architecture / Residential Development / Interior Design & Product Design / Energy Efficiency & Sustainability.
BAIDs remarkable building design won 1st prize in a competition for the new headquarter of Aldi Nord, one of the world’s leading discount store chains. The campus offers work space for up to 1800 employees and includes a day care center and several sports facilities. Key aspects of the design idea are communication hubs throughout the complex, and the large plaza with a glass roof in the center of the main building.
With the new urban development initiative "Entrance Elbrücken" and the adjacent Billepark, Rothenburgsort is already experiencing a successful and forward-looking upgrade. The bunker as an existing building offers sufficient volume for a new district, in the centre of Rothenburgsort and also serves structurally as a foundation for a striking and widely visible residential high-rise in timber construction.
The location of the planning area, on one of the main arteries directly behind the Elbe bridges, on the gateway to Hamburg's city center, raises high expectations in terms of urban planning and architecture. At the same time, however, the form and situation resulting from an extremely narrow confinement between the seven-lane Amsinck street, the railroad line running behind it, the S-Bahn viaduct running above it, and the adjacent Bille as a watercourse, create particularly challenging conditions
