"GERMAN PAVILION. Excellence in Architecture" for the 13th time at MIPIM: German architects present their projects in Cannes
After two years of reduced presence, the world's leading trade fair for the real estate industry, MIPIM, will once again open its doors from 15 to 18 March 2022. Although with corona-related restrictions the fair will celebrate its comeback under the motto "Driving Urban Change". MIPIM brings together influential stakeholders of the international real estate sectors - offices, flats, retail, health, sports, logistics and industry - and offers unique access to the most important international urban and real estate development projects as well as to sources of capital.
Under the motto "Excellence in Architecture" 22 German architecture and planning offices will present their expertise, services and latest projects at the GERMAN PAVILION in the central Riviera Hall. The stand is being realised for the 13th time on the initiative of the Network for Architecture Exchange NAX and the Federal Chamber of Architects (BAK) and with the support of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection as well as the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry AUMA.
The traditional ceremonial opening of the joint stand GERMAN PAVILION with BAK-Vice President Prof. Ralf Niebergall, the Chairman of the Federal Foundation for Building Culture, Reiner Nagel and with Clarissa Duvigneau, Consul of the German Consulate General in Marseille will be held in a smaller scale this year. Unfortunately, further events at the stand are not possible due to corona restrictions. However, important decision-makers have already announced their visit to the GERMAN PAVILION, among them Berlin's Senator for Construction Andreas Geisel.
A highlight of the fair is the annual presentation of the internationally renowned MIPIM Awards. Once again, a German architecture firm and long-standing member of the Network for Architecture Exchange NAX is among the nominated finalists: Eller + Eller Architects with their project Siemens Healthineers Campus Bengaluru is nominated in the Best Futura Mega Project category.
All 22 participating offices/firms of the joint stand "German Pavilion" (Riviera Hall, Stand No. R07.G38) are presented on the official website of the GERMAN PAVILION.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) decides on, and supports, official participations in the Federal Republic of Germany's international trade fairs and exhibition programme. In addition to policy and budgetary issues, the active involvement in the presentation of Germany at international fairs and exhibitions is of prime importance. In a constant dialogue with private-sector partners, the division for international/national trade fairs and exhibitions of the ministry backs the export activities of German industry on international markets.
Furthermore, the "fairs and exhibitions division" is concerned with planning and implementing German participation in world expositions abroad and with major political issues regarding fairs and exhibitions in Germany.
The AUMA - Association of the German Trade Fair Industry represents the interests of the trade fair industry on a national and international level in dealings with parliament, ministries, authorities and other organisations.
The association organises the official German trade fair programme abroad in close cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the Ministry of Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture.
As part of this programme, the Federal Government provides financial assistance for German participations at foreign events, but also for independent presentations by German industry abroad.
