blauraum engages in the design of innovative wood hybrid buildings. In Berlin at the entrance of the City West, the architects have designed a new high-rise based on the CREE system, a simple module-based support system – sustainable, flexible and light. Next to the existing buildings of the 60s and 80s, the newly planned office and residential building impresses with a transparent appearance. In the gap between the office and the residential part, a lobby is created, which acts as both a connection and a separation and opens to the vertical.
Another high-rise intended as headquarters for Vattenfall has been designed for a central location in Hamburg’s HafenCity. The wood hybrid construction takes into account the interests of the many stakeholders: It provides modern and open working spaces grouped around a large sun atrium. The city gains a lively and public ground floor zone, while the owner can respond flexibly to possible changes in use.
