Winner of the competition for the Longgang District Nursing Home
Nickl & Partner has won the award of contract for the construction of the new Longgang District Nursing Home. The new geriatric care centre will be built in the Longgang District east of Shenzhen. Nickl & Partner Architekten has won the international competition with an innovative concept of multidimensional “care for the elderly”. Part of the concept is the “three-dimensional community”. The staggered arrangement of tesseract units creates the impression of a city growing with the light. The open spaces gained thereby are used for vital greening and contribute to the lively overall atmosphere. The generous green spaces also fulfil the residents’ traditional national longing for the ideal of life in old age and the bond with nature.
