Burckhardt planned the new flexible-use AVZ 1 building for five natural science institutes at the University of Bonn in a timber hybrid construction. It will accommodate seminar rooms, offices and open-space laboratory units with safety zones S1 and S2, plus a library and a lecture theater. The central atrium serves as a place for students to mingle and talk. BNB Silver certification is being sought for the building.
