Upbeat, Berlin

The design is characterised by the height gradated form and the three sweepingly spread star-shaped building sections. The result is a series of surfaces with varying lengths bringing rhythm into the 120-metre-long façade. Inside two circulation cores can generate connected areas of up to 2500 sqm. This formal consistency allows a well-proportioned, nonhierarchical building ensemble to be created, which assigns a clear identity to the user – in this case the DKB as a single-tenant in the future.

MYND. High-rise at Alexanderplatz, Berlin

The department store "Galeria Kaufhof" at Alexanderplatz, planned and realised in 2004-2006 according to plans by Kleihues + Kleihues, is to be supplemented by a 134m high high-rise tower and an 8-storey extension of the existing building. The uses are independent of each other and are largely accessed separately. The high demands on inner flexibility and general sustainability are taken into account in the planning – they range from a smart façade to weight-saving cap ceilings.

G5, Berlin

The GSG site is part of a dense block structure. The meandering shape and the staggered building heights create a varied image. Two structural high points, which both develop a long-distance effect and can be experienced from close up, accentuate the northern/southern corners. The G5 building forms a structural framework that is robust and flexible enough to accomodate a wide variety of companies - the result is a building with a distinctive architectural expression.
