Built in 1901, Frankfurt's Villa Kennedy, once Villa Speyer, evolved from a private residence to a university-owned space, hosting the Max-Planck-Institut für Biophysik until 2000. In 2006, it transformed into a 5-star luxury hotel, renowned nationally and internationally, closing in mid-2022. Recently confirmed, it will remain a luxury hotel, undergoing extensive renovation for an "Urban Retreat" with 147 rooms, part of the Althoff Collection, reopening in fall 2024.
